What I have learned is that technology is rarely the best place to start. The better place is the work itself: what people are trying to accomplish, what gets in their way, what information they need, and what would become possible if unnecessary friction disappeared.

I work from the business problem outward. Sometimes the answer may involve software, data, integration, automation or AI. Sometimes the better answer is a simpler workflow, better use of systems already in place, or a clearer way to make and communicate decisions.

Capacity should be useful.

I believe efficiency is most valuable when it creates useful capacity—allowing a company to do more, serve customers better, strengthen margins, pursue growth and, where demand supports it, create additional opportunities for its people.
